Coordinated Two-Tier Heterogeneous Cellular Networks with Leakage Based Beamforming
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we demonstrate the rate gains achieved by two-tier heterogeneous cellular networks (HetNets) with varying degrees of coordination between macrocell and microcell base stations (BSs). We show that without the presence of coordination, network densification does not provide any gain in the sum rate and rapidly decreases the mean per-user signalto-interference-plus-noise-ratio (SINR). Our results show that coordination reduces the rate of SINR decay with increasing numbers of microcell BSs in the system. Validity of the analytically approximated mean per-user SINR over a wide range of signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) is demonstrated via comparison with the simulated results.

PHP-Based Coverage Analysis in Millimeter Wave Heterogeneous Cellular Network
With severe spectrum shortage and high capacity requirement in future cellular networks, millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies is a candidate for next-generation wireless networks. Due to the sensitivity of mmWave signals to blockage and using directional beamforming in both transmitter and receiver, novel models are needed to analyze cellular networks operating in mmWave frequencies. Base stati...
متن کاملAn efficient non-repudiation billing protocol in heterogeneous 3G-WLAN networks
The wireless communication with delivering variety of services to users is growing rapidly in recent years. The third generation of cellular networks (3G), and local wireless networks (WLAN) are the two widely used technologies in wireless networks. 3G networks have the capability of covering a vast area; while, WLAN networks provide higher transmission rates with less coverage. Since the two n...
متن کاملHeterogeneous Multi-Tier Networks: Improper Signaling For Joint Rate-Energy Optimization
Wireless nodes in future communication systems are expected to overcome three barriers when compared to their transitional counterparts, namely to support significantly higher data rates, have long-lasting energy supplies and remain fully operational in interference-limited heterogeneous networks. This could be achieved by providing three promising features, which are radio frequency (RF) energ...
متن کاملDistributed Dynamic Inter-Cell Interference Management for Femtocell Networks Using Over-the-Air Single-Tone Signaling
Femtocell networks are promising for not only improving the coverage but also increasing the capacity of current cellular networks. The interference-limited reality in femtocell networks makes interference management (IM) the key to maintaining the quality of service and fairness in femtocell networks. Over-the-air signaling is one of the most effective means for fast distributed dynamic IM. Ho...
متن کاملSensitivity and Asymptotic Analysis of Inter-cell Interference against Pricing for Multi-Antenna Base Stations
We thoroughly investigate the downlink beamforming problem of a two-tier network in a reversed time-division duplex (R-TDD) system, where the interference leakage from a tier-2 base station (BS) towards nearby uplink tier-1 BSs is controlled through pricing. We show that soft interference control through the pricing mechanism does not undermine the ability to regulate interference leakage while...
